What are your top tips for maintaining hair extensions and keeping them looking their best between appointments?
Rebecca Bailey:
“The biggest tip is to treat your extensions with the same care you'd give your natural hair - if not more. I always recommend using SWAY’s professional aftercare products (SWAY Hydrate System), brushing regularly with a hair extension-safe brush and sleeping with hair tied loosely in a braid or ponytail to prevent tangling.
Heat protection is also essential whenever styling with styling tools. Consistent aftercare can make a huge difference to both the appearance and longevity of the extensions.”
What hair extension trends are you seeing more clients request right now?
Rebecca Bailey:
“We're definitely seeing more towards Tape Weft and more clients are wanting 22’’/24’’ again so the Flat Weft is definitely becoming more popular again. However, I have seen a rise in requests for Flat Tip Bonds which I think are about to make a huge comeback!
Soft layering, face-framing pieces and dimensional colour blends are incredibly popular too. There's also growing demand for hair extensions that enhance natural hair rather than completely change it, creating that 'your hair, but better' look.”
What's your go-to hair extension method and why?
Rebecca Bailey:
“I don’t have a go-to as everyone is so different and I have to work with their needs/requests. However, if I was to have a favourite method that I love the results of it would have to be a Flat Weft in 22’’/24’’ as I am obsessed with thick long hair!
Just to add - I fell in love with SWAY a long time ago due to the support they gave me and what they have done for me to help my business grow!
